Rose hip is native to Europe, North Africa, and Southwestern Asia. Its Latin name comes from canis, meaning dog, and it is also known by the common name dog-rose. Rose hip’s vitamin C content exceeds the citrus fruits. It also contains other vitamins and minerals, carotenoids, tocopherols, flavonoids, fruit acids, tannins, pectin, sugars, organic acids, amino acids, and essential oils.

Rose hip may be beneficial for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, immune system, scurvy, urinary infections, dizziness, headache, diabetes, obesity, and as an anti-age agent.
