Hop

Hop is native to Europe, Western Asia, and North America. The flowers of the female plant are used primarily as a bittering, flavoring, and stability agent in beer production. Hop contains sesquiterpenoids, diterpenoids, triterpenoids, phytoestrogens, and flavonoid xanthohumol, which has some in vitro anti-HIV activity.

Hop may be beneficial for anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, tension, excitability, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), nervousness, irritability, menopause, anemia, liver diseases, thrombosis, cancer, hepatitis C, HIV, wrinkles, skin infections, and obesity.
