Gotu kola is native to Southeast Asia. In India, it is known as “brain food” for revitalizing nerves and brain cells. It contains four triterpenes — madecassoside, asiaticoside, madecassic acid and asiatic acid. Gotu cola extract stimulates collagen synthesis better than vitamin C, and its lipolysis activity is better than that of caffeine.

Gotu cola may be beneficial for cognitive functions, Alzheimer’s disease, varicose veins, atherosclerosis, psoriasis, diabetes, stress, anxiety, and reducing stretch marks during pregnancy.
