Water hyssop is native to India, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. It contains a number of alkaloids and saponins, among which the steroidal saponins — bacosides A and B.
Water hyssop may be beneficial for Alzheimer’s disease, improving memory and thinking skills, anxiety, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
