Veld grape is native to Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Its Ayurvedic name is Asthisamharaka, which means “that which prevents the destruction of bones”. It contains vitamin C, steroids, flavonoids, stilbenes, iridoids, triterpenes, and gallic acid derivatives.

Veld grape may be beneficial for promoting bone and tissue healing, as an analgesic, to treat infections, as an anabolic, and to promote weight loss and weight management.
