Rhodiola is native to the Arctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. It was used by the Vikings as an adaptogen for enhancing physical endurance and mental stamina. Rhodiola contains flavonoids, proanthocyanidins, tyrosol, cinnamyl alcohol, glycosides, organic acids, essential oils, sugars, fats, alcohols, and proteins.

Rhodiola may be beneficial for fatigue, anxiety, depression, stress, cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis, liver damage, improving hearing, athletic performance, and as an anti-aging agent.
